Do you like being active during your holiday? Gargano can offer you many different ways for training, choosing between sea sports and mountain paths.

If you like to ride your mountain bike, there are many routes around the coast and through mountain landscapes into the “Foresta Umbra”.

Gargano hosted many “Giro d’Italia” editions and cyclists have many different country road options.

If your favourite sport is windsurf, kitesurf or S.U.P., Gargano, especially the North Coast of Vieste, is the right place where you can learn or improve the windsurfing and kitesporting skills.

There are many Schools with teachers for beginners and intermediates close to Camping Village San Michele, or it is possible just to rent equipments to enjoy wind and sea  sports in complete freedom:

 

Do you love play Trekking? Gargano National Park can offer you many different paths for both short and long walks on foot surrounded by nature, with twittering birds, scents of woods and sound of trees caressed by the wind.

Only 500 meters from our Camping, you can walk through the awesome Natural Archeological itinerary, around 5,7 km long that starts at “Località Sfinalicchio (S.P. 52 Litoranea Vieste – Peschici Km 10,2) and ends at “Bivio Bosco Reseghetta (S.S. 89 to Peschici Km 92,4). Hiking time: approx. 3,10 hours; difficulty level: low.

Along the way you can see magical natural landscapes of Mediterranean scrub of Gargano and archeologic, prehistoric and prothostoric evidence.

Around the National Park of Gargano it is possibile to reach the following itineraries:

  • Archeologic– Natural Itinerary from crossroad Reginella (Promenade Sea front Enrico Mattei, Vieste at km 2,5) to Sangro locality (S.S. 89 to Mattinata at km 121,70). Path length: 14,7 km; hiking time: approx. 6 hours; difficulty level: medium-high.
  • Natural Itinerary from Mergoli Locality (S.P. 53 Vieste-Mattinata Km 17,4) to Vignanotica Beach. Path length: 2,5 km; hiking time: approx. 1,3 hours; difficulty level: low.
  • “Foresta Umbra” Natural Itinerary from Umbra Village, Sfilzi Locality (it is possible to reach it from Vieste or Peschici through Umbramare street or from Vico del Gargano and Monte Sant’Angelo through S.S. 528) to Caserma di Caritate (it is possible to reach it from S.S. 89 Vieste-Peschici, taking a junction to Umbramare street for 4,5 km). Path length: 13,5 km; hiking time: approx. 5,15 hours; difficulty level: medium.
  • Natural Itinerary that starts and finishes at Caserma di Caritate – Umbra Village (it is possible to reach it from S.S 89 Vieste-Peschici, taking a junction to Umbramare street for 4,5 km). Path length: 26 km; hiking time: approx. 10,50 hours; difficulty level: very high.
  • Archeologic – Natural Itinerary from Sangro Locality (S.S 89 to Mattinata at km 121,70) to S.S 89 to Mattinata km 129,50. Path length: 21 km; hiking time: approx. 9,45 hours; difficulty level: medium-high.
  • Natural Itinerary from S.S. 89 to Mattinata km 129,59, to Umbra Village (it is possible to reach it from Vieste or Peschici through Umbramare street or Vico del Gargano and Monte Sant’Angeo through S.S. 528). Path length: 15,20 km; hiking time: approx. 7,50 hours; difficulty level: medium.
  • Religious – Natural Itinerary from Sangro Locality (S.S. 89 to Mattinata at km 125,50) to Monte Sant’Angelo. Path length: 24 km; hiking time: approx. 8,45 hours; difficulty level: very high.
