Recommended trekking routes

1. THE VALLEY OF THE PULSANO HERMITAGES: A trek rich in scenic, historical and cultural value offers panoramic views of the Pulsano valley and the picturesque Manfredonia plain. More

2. THE TRABUCCHI COAST AND WATCHTOWERS: An evocative route along the coast between Peschici and Vieste, characterised by trabucchi and watchtowers, testimonies of the Gargano's cultural heritage.

3. VALLE DEI MERLI AND VIGNANOTICA BAY (IL SENTIERO DELL’AMORE - THE PATH OF LOVE): The Sentiero dell'Amore (Love Path) between Baia delle Zagare and Vignanotica offers breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea and the limestone cliffs of the Gargano.

4. THE DAUNIAN NECROPOLIS OF MONTE SARACENO (MATTINATA): A spectacular and scenic route with views of the Manfredonia cliffs. The path crosses centuries-old olive groves and the 'Porta Dauna' of Monte Saraceno, introducing visitors to the fascinating necropolis dating back to the 9th - 4th centuries B.C. with around 500 Daunian tombs and stelae.

5. MONTE CALVO, THE HIGHEST PEAK IN THE GARGANO: A climb to the highest peak of the Gargano National Park, Mount Calvo, offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Manfredonia, Lake Varano, the Tremiti Islands and the Maiella.

6. THE VALLONE DELL’INFERNO The ancient mule track along the Valle dell'Inferno, a junction of the Via Francigena, with overhanging cliffs, caves and natural arches, is one of the most spectacular routes in the Gargano.

7. THE VIA SACRA LANGOBARDORUM: A historic pilgrimage route in the Middle Ages that connected Benevento to Monte Sant'Angelo, passing through breathtaking views and ancient sacred stages.

8. MONTE SACRO, THE ORCHID TRAIL AND THE RUINS OF THE ABBEY OF THE SS. TRINITY: A trek among orchids in the Umbra Forest, culminating in the ruins of the Abbey of the Holy Trinity on Monte Sacro.

9. THE SCALA SANTA (SCANNAMUGLIERA): An ancient path along the slopes of Monte Sant'Angelo, with steps carved into the rock, offering historical and scenic views..

10. OASI AGRUMARIA: An itinerary from Rodi Garganico to Vico del Gargano through terraced gardens cultivated with citrus groves, enhancing the agricultural heritage of the Gargano.
